On Oct 8th Mike and I celebrated our 5th anniversary. We went to a Sandals resort in the Bahamas to celebrate - 4 days/ 3 nights, and the longest we left the baby since he was born. We missed him (mom especially) but it was nice to be away, just the two of us.
We were ESPECIALLY blessed that they upgraded us to what I think is one of the nicest rooms in the resort. It was breath-taking. Here is a pic of our view out our room window.
And the inside of the room...
Just a few steps out the door was a jacuzzi tub.One night we attended a special dinner for returning guests (we went to a Sandals resort for our 1st honeymoon, too, that time in Jamaica).
They are setting up a special candlelight dinner for us on this pier just outside our room.
Beautiful sunset on our anniversary evening.
The candlelight dinner was a great time of reflecting on God's grace in our marriage, as well as talking about the future.
On the last day the winds finally died down enough for us to go to an offshore island owned by the resort, which they called the "private island." It was beautiful, and very remote (but still with conveniences like a pool, bar, restaurant, etc).
Again, beautiful, clear blue water. We hear it is even more beautiful when it is completely calm.
Which means we will just have to go back! 4 days away seemed like just about as much as mom wanted to be away from the baby, but it was still enough to feel rested and refreshed. We are very blessed to be able to do these things (and to have parents who are willing to watch our little one to make it possible)!
